What is Anime?

Anime is an umbrella term, it mainly refers to animation that originated in Japan. It also means like a style, theme genre and more. Each episode is usually ~20 to 25 minutes and seasons of anime consist of usually 12 episodes in one season or 24 in one season.

What is Manga?

Manga is a style of Japanese graphic novels and comic books, usually printed in black and white. They are usually denoted by single volumes but there is "complete manga," where all the volumes of the completed series are compiled together, or bundles of volumes like three in one; containing perhaps volumes 2, 3, and 4.

What is an Isekai?

Isekai is a type of anime usually where the main protagonist is transported into another world (like our world to a fantasy world). They usually die in the original world (or just get transported) and get sent into this new world to save it or whatever. Most of the time the protagonist is overpowered and gains a following/reputation whether good or bad. Truck-kun is usually the method of transportation into an isekai. Isekai is not limited to this stereotype but the stereotype has been broken by recent anime.

What is an shonen?

Type of anime targeted toward adolescent boys.

What is an Shoujo?

Type of anime targeted toward adolescent girls.

What is an seinen?

Type of anime targeted toward 18+ age men.

What is an josei?

Type of anime targeted toward 18+ age women.

What is a weeb?

A weeb likes anime or anime themed/related things in general.

What is a weeaboo?

A weeaboo is someone who is into anime or anime themed/related things to the point is unhealthy. The general anime community refers to weeaboos as cringe.

What is an otaku?

An otaku is :a person having an intense or obsessive interest especially in the fields of anime and manga —often used before another noun

What is a man of culture?/What are men of culture?

A man of culture can be a compliment or flat out derogatory term. It is a meme (the internet memes were very depraved at first; the connotations being vile to the average internet user.), but in the anime community usually it means they are now "in the know" of a popular anime and have refined/good taste for watching it.

What is -senpai?

-senpai is used in a joking manner commonly by western fans. This honorific is used for the more experienced classmate, colleague, friend, and so on. They could be older, admired or respected. You would seek help and learn from your senpai. It is used for work or school settings, being less formal than sensei.

What is -sensei?

-sensei is a formal honorific, used to address teachers or an expert in their field. It is usually denoted they have the position to educate. The other professions you may find using sensei are scientists, doctors, lawyers and authors. Calling them sensei shows respect that they are experts in their field and higher positioning than a newcomer to a field.

What is -sama?

-sama is an honorific for individuals of high status.

What are Japanese Honorifics?

Honorifics in anime are so iconic yet there are so many variations, too lazy to write them all,  maybe it will be covered later. Honorifics are like Mr, Mrs, Miss, Mister, Ms, Sir, Ma'am, and more.
