Comic Party
Although Kazuki is meant to be the main character, for me Comic Party will always be "The Taishi Show"! When it comes to comedy, Taishi virtually carries this series on his back single-handedly. It would really have been up a creek without him--the humor offered by the other characters was just adequate (the rivalry between Yuu and Michi was good). As it is, it's worth watching just to soak up his eccentric personality and bits of wisdom. Well, actually the comedy goes into a lull for several episodes after Kazuki suffers a demoralizing setback. This got uncomfortable, and around episode 11 I found myself wondering if the series' makers would manage to pull a decent ending out of their hat. Fortunately, they did, and the hilarity that I remembered from the first few episodes came back. Everybody compares this show to Otaku no Video, (and there certainly are simularities) but it seems a good deal more realistic and plausible to me (even with the character of Taishi!). After him, I'd say the second best thing about Comic Party was the education it offered. I didn't know much about Doujinshi, and was intrigued at this glimpse into the comic sub-culture that exists in Japan.
