Story/Location) A story in which the main character is confronted with issues related to their transition from adolescence (innocence) to adulthood (responsibility). Most typically found in a modern romance story in which the main character has to confront his/her feelings over their (first) love and/or deciding about the path in life (setting goals, attending college, getting a job etc.).
College: (
Story/Location) The nature of a story line is often defined by both the age and issues that the main character has to confront. A student in college would approach a situation very differently than someone in Middle School. It was love at first sight for Aihara Kotoko as top student Irie Naoki delivers a speech on the first day of high school. After 2 years of secret admiration, "I don't want it" is the rejection she gets when she plucks up enough courage to hand him a love letter. Dejected, Kotoko vows to give him up. By a twist of fate, Kotoko's house collapses; her dad and her put up at a friend's place, who happens to be Naoki's father. And thus, life with Naoki begins and Kotoko's love for Naoki rekindles again. Much laughter ensues when scatterbrain Kotoko makes her countless advances (supported by Naoki's wacky mum) on ice-cold Naoki who hates girls and is a genius at practically everything from studies to sports.

In the year 2176 A.D., the solar system was subjected to a cosmically intense radiation and electromagnetic wave which caused vast disasters on Earth. The human race has built enormous space bases called the "foundations" in the orbits of Earth, Mars, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter. The one for Earth is called "Stellvia." The show depicts the adventures of young cadets who enter the space pilot training school there with one common goal... To defend the solar system and planet Earth against the cosmic disaster and subsequent shock wave.
