Notables:
Yoshimune is the lord of Edo castle in a very different medieval Japan. Secretly harboring feelings for the troublesome Hime-sama (princess), he has his hands full with her sneaking out (almost every night) to dance the night away at a local disco. But with so many things going on at the court, there is always something that needs his special attention.

Yoshimune is a kids show that mixes the characters of the traditional 17th century (Edo Era) Japan with all of the contemporary features of a modern Japan. So expect top-knotted Samurai riding motorcycles, disco dancing princesses, robot servants and wooden subway trains & cars.

This series very much reminds me of Gintama in that it delights in freely mixing the old world Japan with the current high-tech Japan.

While the animation is good, the storyline is stilted to appeal to the very young adult crowd (eight to twelve year olds) who are apt to overlook the simplistic plot, storyline inconsistencies and recycled scenes. All of the characters are short and drawn very kawaii (or cute) to make them appear less threatening and more comic - all designed to appeal to the targeted audience.

After having seen two episodes, I have lost all interest in seeing any more.
